Chicken Burgers

I made these burgers in the morning and it didn't take much time to assemble them. The chicken patties usually take some time to prepare so make sure your routine isn't compromised; you could prepare them the night before. Personally, I prepared everything on the day I had the burgers. I had one burger for breakfast and I was really sleepy afterwards therefore they aren't ideal for before a lesson. I saved the other burger for lunch (the one with tzatziki) and the buns were a bit soggy so my conclusion is that it would have been better if the sauce was on the chicken patty rather than on the buns. Nonetheless, they had a spectacular taste and were 100% filling. Make sure you try this recipe out and leave a comment.

You will need:

  • Burger buns (could either be store bought or homemade- I used store bought)

  • Chicken patties

  • Lettuce

  • Tomato (sliced)

  • Creamy sauce (I used the leftover "tzatziki" sauce from the beef wrap recipe for one of the burgers)

  • Fat (could be butter, lard or margarine)

For the Sauce:
  • 1 dsp double cream plain yoghurt

  • 1 tsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp roast pepper pasta sauce

  • Cayenne pepper or peri peri

  • Lemon and black pepper seasoning

  • Lemon juice

Directions

  1. Prepare the patties and the sauce.

  2. Melt the fat in a pan and toast the buns.

  3. Apply the sauce on the bottom buns.

  4. Add the chicken patty, lettuce and tomato.

  5. Place the top bun and enjoy!
